Nature's Teaching

I came to a sudden halt,
while walking on asphalt,
when my mind was flooded with thought,
that, "is my life really worth?"

There was nothing in my life that I haven't gain,
and there was not even a single trace of pain.
But I felt that there was someone in my life who was missing,
and that was the one who would provide me with his teachings.

In my mind a lots of questions were being raised,
that, "is education all about getting good grades?
If it is, then in a world full of witty,
why is there so much apathy?"

So I asked the lord to provide me with a teach,
who will bring my goodness in my reach.
The lord said that you are surrounded with such gems,
its just that you are unable to recognize them.

He asked me to take a walk into the wood,
so as to find someone who will teach me some good.
I did as he had told,
and went into forest to find some gold.

There i saw a blood smeared ape,
who was trying to get back into shape.
He was trying to rise after falling from a tree that was tall,
and taught me how to rise after a great fall.

I walked a little further to find an old man,
who was being secluded by his own clan,
but he stood happy even in the plight,
and taught me how to make a dull day bright.

After walking further a mile,
I saw something that made me smile,
there were some cows, whose milk humans do steal,
were all trying so that those humans wound can be healed.

And the chicken, whom these human kill,
where bringing water from the bottom of the hill,
so that the injured humans can take a potation,
and thus in a way, taught me an act of compassion.

I felt hungry by the time I reached the forest end,
and found a man with whom I soon became friend,
by providing food to my hungry self he was being fair,
and taught me how a friend takes care.

With that i came out of the coppice,
so as to surmise,
that there is so many teachers around us,
whom we are unable to trust.

By the end of the whole walk, I came to a conclusion,
that a teacher teaches us to smile, care and to show compassion,
and is not merely someone who makes us earn our food,
but are also the ones who makes us good.

A plea of a friend.

If my memory is serving me well,
I remember meeting you in hell,
hell because the events that have taken place,
and because the mighty God didn't showed you his grace.

As we were almost about to be friend,
that's the event i wish would have never happened,
I wish that time you would have known,
that i am the person for whom your mom said no.

As we were going to take the oath,
of being friend from that day forth,
I wish i would have told you then,
that by being my friend you will repent.

And together as we were growing old,
I wish i would have been a little more bold,
I wish i would have shown you who actually i am,
so as to save you from all those embarrassment.

That day when you were relying on me,
I don't know how you failed to see,
that someday i will let you down,
and being with me will make you look like a clown.

That day when you asked me for a small favor,
I wonder how you didn't notice that i began to waver,
in my deeds i was not being fair,
as if something was making me scare.

That day when you were all alone,
you were desperately trying to reach me on my phone,
I wonder how you didn't had a clue,
that i was trying to ignore you.

That day when i was supposed to take your side,
I made you stand alone in the fight,
and when you were surrounded by the hound,
instead of helping you, i was home bound.

That is why i din't want you to be my friend,
as i don't want to start a new trend,
of being a friend, only because of greed,
and not being with you in the time of need.

Thus i put forward my plea,
hoping that you will forgive me,
as i always wanted to make you glad,
but somehow i always made you sad.

I wish i would have shown you much more care,
and for you i would have done much more prayer,
And I would like you to know,
that i was never your foe.

I always wished the best of you,
and you were the best person in my view,
but the things never went our way,
and that is why i want to say.

That you should be friend with some other person,
so that the thing don't get much worsen,
and that is why i will always be saying,
that i am a friend you will regret having.

The flowing tears.

During the dark,
sitting in the park,
performing the silent prayer,
asking the lord for much more care,
i saw drops of water in motion,
and called them into question,
"Who art thou and why dost thou flow?"
"We art tears,
and we cometh hither to maketh thou hear,
that thou can get us shed, whence thy loving ones maketh thou sad",
the drops of water in motion said.
Replied I, "why should i groan,
whence my loved ones art the reason for my moan,
there is no reason why i should lament,
if they art unable to return sentiment 'gainst my sentiment,
they don't deserves these tears,
if they don't hold me dear.
And if i am dear to them,
as they art to me,
they won't bring into being,
the things that will cause me suffering,
and if their actions maketh me weep,
it is because the good wherein i am unable to see,
so i ask thou why shalt i shed tears,
as the ones who hold me dear,
will feel very bad,
seeing me all sad."
Tears said, "from the aforementioned,
i cometh to a conclusion,
that tears art all vain,
as nothing from it that thou can gain."

Being on the grass,
beside my loved one's carcass,
sitting on the ground,
making spiritual sound,
asking the lord for his salvation,
i saw drops of water in motion,
and questioned, "Who art thou and why dost thou flow?"
They said, "We art tears,
and we cometh hither to maketh thou hear,
that thou can get us shed,
whence thy loving ones art dead."
Replied I, "why should i yammer,
when my loved one hast goneth to meet thy maker,
instead i should cheer,
as the one whom we hold dear,
is forsaken from all the worldly pain,
and is free to play his own game,
being able to fly high above in the skies,
far away from all the worldly cries,
and if from above he doth see me sad,
i know for sure that he will feel bad,
for him i should always wear a cheer,
as for him this is the burden i should always bear."
Tears said, "from the aforementioned,
i cometh to a conclusion,
that tears art all vain,
as it cause nothing but great pain."

I wish you enough « Paulo Coelho's Blog

Recently I overheard a father and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure.
Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the father said, ‘I love you, and I wish you enough.’

They kissed and the daughter left. The father walked over to the window where I was seated. I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but I could not refrain from asking:
‘When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, ‘I wish you enough.’ May I ask what that means?’

He began to smile. ‘That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone.’
He paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and he smiled even more.
‘When we said, ‘I wish you enough,’ we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.’
Then turning toward me, he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more..

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.

I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting…

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good- bye.

A swift transition from a Vegetarian to a Vegan!!

There is nothing in our life called bad times. Its only a perception. Only good time & better time exist. The time which we consider bad time are actually better time of our life. Bad time are the best teacher we can ever have, they teach us the thing that nobody can ever teach us. So its up to us whether we perceive it as bad time & waste our life thinking why we had it or as better time and learn something out of it. A similar such event happened with me which made me think in a new light. Bad times are not necessary the times in which any bad happens to us but are also the ones in which we do something bad upon others intentionally or unintentionally.
Till the end on 2009, i used to be a Vegetarian and was in vain that i do not inflict any harm on others, but one fine day while i was discussing the ill-effects of a non-vegetarian diet with a non-vegetarian friend of mine, i realized that there is an element of "bad" in vegetarian diet also. I visited the dairy farm the following day and saw how we use/harass/torture the cattle animals in order to get dairy product out of them. Being an animal lover, it completely shattered me and i decided to go Vegan.
But this decision of mine which i recently had taken was something which was not "kids stuff" for me as i belong to a society where, unfortunately, after a brief history of non-violence, people where turning violent by adopting a diet that involves harm to others. Further, being a person who completely loved milk product and who "literally" used to survive completely on lacto diet, consuming nothing other than at least 1.5 Lt. of lacto product on a daily basis, Veganism was some thing really hard for me but the thing that kept me going was the consideration that how can i harm the source of the thing i love completely.
Being a part of a society where Cows are respected as much as our mothers are and where the milk products are considered holy and where it is an integral part of religious ceremony, excluding it from my life was difficult. People here are of the view that cows are like our mother. If it is so then i ask them to visit the dairy farm and see for themselves how these "mothers" are treated, how they are chained, made to stand in their own feces, injected with oxotocin so that they can milk more, and are made to bear many other inhuman treatment (check PETA India site or a blog by a Vegan for more detail, as i am not feeling it right to discuss here now about the things of which you don't even considers checking morality, maybe some next time) which, if you truly love your mother, won't ever want to happen to her. So how can we tag a cow as a mother if we continue to treat her like that or how can we do all this stuff if we respect her as a mother?
Now, they say cow is divine, if it is so, then how can we make her bear so much pain that we inflict on her in order to get some milk, or if we inflict so much pain on her how can we call her divine? I don't know whether she is like a mother or divine, all i know is that she don't deserve the wrong that happens to her.
People also talk about the implication of Veganism on health raising the question that from where would i be getting all the required nutrients and vitamins, highlighting the rumor that Vegan are pale and weak. Well, to this i can say that its a complete lie that Vegans are weak because i have been a Vegan now for almost one whole year and i am happy to say that by managing the diet properly, including all necessary minerals and vitamin Vegan source in my diet, i am much healthier in addition to being much happier than i was when i was a Vegetarian.
So, i will like to end this with saying that you don't deserve the wrong you do, so Go Vegan!!

My sayings, a collection.

~Smile is not always a symbol of happiness, sometimes it is used to hide our greatest sorrow.

~Love is the best source of energy until you are engaged ;)

~And they says that USA is the most powerful nation, yes of course it is, which other country passes a law which saves the necks of those who violates humanitarian values and prosecute those who tries to save them? Which other country passes Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act? All hail "superpower" USA for such a cowardly act .

~Bad times are not necessary the times in which any bad happens to us but are also the ones in which we do something bad upon others intentionally or unintentionally.

~You don't deserve the wrong you do, Go Vegan!!

~Everything has a reason, everything has its time!!

~We make only one, two or at most three friends in our whole life, rest all are only contacts, either good or bad.

~Smile, and the world will smile with you.

~Powers are not always a blessing, sometimes it become our greatest curse.

~The day we are born, v bring a smile on the face of our family. As v grow up, v meet new people who feel happy in our presence & r those whom v call friends. These friends r always with us and their happiness make us even more happy and their wishes brighten our day however dull it might be.

~Merry Christmas fellow good souls. On this day when a star came down to Earth from Heaven, to brighten and nurture this dull and barren land of Earth and heart of people living on it, lets do something that will make his visit to Earth fruitful. Fill the life of every living being around you with smile and happiness. Merry Christmas!!

~Thirty years back, people used to think that the Vegans are someone from Vegas, but things are changing now, now they know that Vegans are someone with heart, heart that loves and cares for all!!

~Don't get disheartened by bad times. It provides you with the golden opportunity to find out who among the person around you are your well-wisher and who are not!! Be yourself and live life to the fullest!!

~Most people have 1000 wishes for Christmas, an animal in the slaughter house only has one, to survive the human torture and greed. In honor of all those animals who died in order to fulfill human greed and pleasure or will be slaughtered for the same, Go Vegan!

~Fear is our greatest enemy. Our fear forbids us from doing what we should do and make us do what we shouldn't. But in fear, we forgets that the cause of that fear cannot do us much harm than that fear itself. The only thing fear is afraid of is faith. Have faith in yourself, defeat your fear and achieve big!!

~This thanksgiving do something that others will be thankful to you. This thanksgiving, Go Vegan and thank God that he gave you opportunity to be good. This thanksgiving, Go Vegan and give those poor animal a chance to thank God for saving them from torture that would have been inflicted upon them if you wouldn't have been a Vegan. Happy Thanksgiving!!

~When you stand up for something good, you make more enemies than friend. But these few friend are our true friends and will be with us whenever we need them. A single friend like these are worth thousand enemies. Likewise, when we go vegan, we may stand against whole human race, but by doing so, we save an animal's life who becomes our great friend and who will be with us, no matter what. So Go Vegan!!

~We cannot love ourselves until and unless we love others.

~We should always avoid two kinds of persons. The one who is comfortable with evil & the one who is afraid of standing against evil. For the 1st one will be comfortable even when something evil happen to you & the 2nd one will let evil happen to you as that person wont have courage to speak against it. So always be with & be yourself the 3rd kind of person who stand against the evil even if it means standing alone.

~When you are alone and nobody wants to be with you, when you are down and nobody is there to pick you up, don't be sad and don't think that you are bad. Its not that they think you are bad, it's not that they deserve somebody better. It's only because they want the best person in the world to be with you, they want you yourself to be with you. Loneliness is not a curse but is a divine opportunity to be with you. Don't be sad, but live your life to the fullest.

~There is nothing in which a bird differ more from a man other than the way in which the later treat and harass the living being weaker than him. Choose compassion over torture on animals and other living entity.

~Knowledge is great power. We should always strive for knowledge. The moment we take a break from our quest for knowledge, we are as good as dead. Even a whole life seems too small in our quest for knowledge. Nothing can satisfy us other than knowledge. And through knowledge, we shall evolve into a happy, better & compassionate being working for wellbeing of every living being irrespective of their species, gender & religion.

~A person is defined by the kind of war he fights for others, a war against evil inside and outside of him, for other's happiness and wellbeing. This is what differentiate a real man from other as everyone fight their own war but only a true man fights for other.

~Fine, if harassing/torturing/enslaving/killing others makes you happy, i wont utter a single word as u are my friend and i want you happy by all mean. But i pray to God that the same do not happens to u, but anyhow if it happens, then i wont be left in any position to stop it from happening, as i don't think that person/thing will listen to me as u are not listening to me. Go Vegan as it is morally right thing to do.

~Kalmadi and Co. has surely let us down. But we can't let our bureaucrats put the nation to shame. Attend CWG in huge numbers and make it a great success and show them that we Indians are not dependent on them for the pride of our great Nation. Start "Stadium Bharo Andolan" and lets show them that they can't roam freely after putting the pride of nation at stake.

~Untill and unless one respect all the lifeforms irrespect of their species, caste, creed, colour, tribe, religion and gender, one cannot respect the lord in front of whom the person bow their head.

~I don't believe in God because of whom i am supposed to hate and discriminate, nor do I believe in God for whom I am supposed to kill and do injustice. Rather, I have faith in the heart of man which love, care and do justice to every living entity without any discrimination and teaches me to do the same. That is where I find the traces of my lord, and that is the place where I bow down my head and pray.

~What kind of person we are depends on wat kind of surrounding we live in. Our surrounding is made by our friends, who always be with us. People say that i am good, which was obvious, bcoz i have such a great & caring friends who makes me a better person. I thank my friend for being with me & making me what i am today. Life would have been very difficult without u guys. Thanks for being my friend. Happy Friendship day.

~Beauty lies in the character not on the face.

~Anyone who can do harm to gentle, harmless and innocent animals, can also do harm to us. Beware of them. Go Vegan.

~The people who find luxury in hard work and happiness in other's happiness are the people to idolize.

~Sometime in our life, we fall in love and say "I Love You". But do we actually mean it? Because we have lost the heart that used to love and care for every single living being. Love is such a great thing that until and unless we love everyone and care for them, we can't love anyone. Go Green and Go Vegan and prove you love.

~The feeling that i might not have the powers to do others any good makes me sad, but i am happy that at least i have the courage that forbids me to do them any wrong.

~ Do nothing but the good, speak nothing but the truth. Take nothing but other's sorrow, give nothing but your's smile.

~ If i am beautiful, its only because beauty exist in your mind and you are able to contemplate it. If i am ugly, its only because i have lost that smile which used to make my face beautiful upon seeing you happy and smiling!!

~ Truth will piss you off, but eventually it will set you free!!

~ "Global Warming" might be a myth but "Global Warning" is not. Earth is your, take care of it or loose it!!

~ Harming innocent and weak is not the most courageous thing to do in the whole world, anyone can do that, but to protect them and to work for their happiness even when you are sad is indeed the courageous and greatest of all deeds.

~ I rather prefer my actions to speak for me than my words!!

~ I hate my parents for not teaching me to eat someone if it doesn't belongs to my species, kill someone if he doesn't belong to my religion, abuse someone if he dosen't belong to my nation and harass someone if that person isn't of same gender as of mine but am really grateful to them for teaching me to love and respect every single living entity and care for them as we all belongs to one great family of all mighty God.

~ I m a vegetarian.. i believe that no innocent creature should be harmed irrespective of his species, gender, caste, color or religion.. I believe if it is wrong to harm me or any of my friends then it is wrong to harm any other animal also..
Further, Jesus has said: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." now when we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, we grow to recognize that everyone, even animals and trees are part of His creation. So by harming animals and trees, we are doing wrong to the Lord.

~ If killing a human is a grievous crime then why isn't killing an animal a crime? Both the species have life and both deserves to live a peaceful and respectful life.

~I pity those poor souls who think they can do any wrong to India. I request my friends to teach some history of Alexander "the great", Genghis Khan and many others to them so that they can learn that no one can fulfill their dream of destroying this great country.

~ There is no honor in the whole world bigger than representing your nation and winning for it.

~ What is the similarity between a terrorist and a non-vegetarian? Both kill others to fill their stomach. But i think terrorist are better than non-vegetarian since they do proclaim that they kill others to get some money for buying some food as they can't work hard. But unfortunately, non-vegetarian think they dont do any wrong by killing those innocent creature whom they kill just to give a treat to their taste buds.

~ I am not turning into anything.. i m happy with whatever i am.. its just that i respect all religion and go through the texts that can make me a better and peaceful person as an whole!!

~ Carnivorous were genetically engineered by the mighty Lord to eat other and unfortunately they don't have the "Constructive" powers as humans do to grow some food for themselves. So we can't blame them.
Further, Carnivorous were created by the mighty Lord to create a ecological balance and to put a check to the population of certain group of species.
I don't believe that humans are intellectually better than other species, but human were granted with constructive power so that there can be peace and harmony among all the creatures, but to the contrary, human misused their power for nothing more than utter destruction of others as well as themselves.

~ I am a Vegetarian. I can proudly say that I don't kill other to give a treat to my taste buds and that i have a heart that cares for other.

~ We should always forgive people and love them for who they are, no matter how wrong they do to us because sometimes we can't understand the motive behinds ones deed, whether it is for our good or not. We always abuse friction for slowing us down and eating up our energy but have we ever wonder that if there weren't any friction, then how would we have been able to start up our motion in the first place.

~People says that humans are social animal. I say humans are neither social nor animals. The manner in which they treat other species, the destruction they cause, even the way they treat their fellow humans, they can't be social. Animals might be cruel but they are kinder in comparison with humans. Humans are blood-sucker. So it won't be polite to call human an "animal" as is will be equal to abusing animals.

~With great powers, comes great responsibilities; with great responsibilities, comes greater enemies; and with greater enemies, comes greatest death. Long live those who die for others.

~People says that when we loose loneliness, we get everything, but I say that when we loose loneliness, we loose the greatest part of ourselves.

~Loneliness is our greatest friend. Its stays with us, no matter what condition are we in, it never gets hurt, no matter what we says to it, it teaches us great things in our life, and unlike attachments, never hurts us ever in our life. I am sorry my dear friend "Loneliness", for drifting so far from you. I promise, i will be yours for the rest of my life!!

~Show respect to every creature, even the fools because who knows when the mighty God will shower his blessing upon that creature making him so powerful that it will make you his slave just like "Humans" are making other species a slave, after they evolved from being a fool to all powerful with the blessings of mighty God!!

~You say that i don't speak much, but i speak in silence because i believe that silence can convey what words cannot, you say that i don't listen to you, but i try to listen your heartbeats because i fear that you won't be able to speak what your heart want to speak.

~If a tiger kills one person to feed himself, everyone in that person's society wants that tiger to be dead. But if that person kills entire group of animal for his greed or to feed himself even if he has access to a vegan food, no one demands for the death of that person. I fail to understand the enormously large difference in the life of human and other species.

~You think i hate you?!?! Have you lost your mind? How dare you think like that? You are my life!!! And you don't know how much i hate my life!!! ;)

~There is nothing in our life called bad times. Its only a perception. Only good time & better time exist. The time which we consider bad time are actually better time of our life. Bad time are the best teacher we can ever have, they teach us the thing that nobody can ever teach us. So its up to us whether we perceive it as bad time & waste your life thinking why we had it or as better time and learn something from it.

~Some time in life it doesn't matter how much bank balance we have, how many people know us or how successful we are, the only thing that matters is that our friends and family saying "don't worry, we are with you". Stop worrying about what you don't have but start caring about what you have. Friends are the best gift anyone can ever have.

~Accident is the most important thing in a boys life.. and thank god i had a great one!!! :)

~Start smoking and drinking as much as you can. All we want at present is the decrease in human popullation, and by smoking, you can contribute greatly to the cause.

~Hmm.. Can i ask for a big favor from you.. i would ask u to buy as many shocks as you can.. bcoz Santa Clause came to me prev night and asked me what i wanted and i asked him to take bags full of happiness yo ur home and fill ur shocks with it so that u don't fall short of happiness ever in your life.. So i am giving u ample amount of time so that u can buy as many shocks as u can and store great deal of happiness.

~When Mercury himself can object the rise in mercury level, he fails to understand what is troubling our "GREAT" leaders to take some action and stop mercury from rising. Save the deal from collapsing, its for our home, its for our Earth.

~If you think that you are the most courageous man in the whole world and that no one can scare you, the try siting on my bike when i ride it, i will scare the hell out of you.. :)

~If one is unhappy to see the distress of other living beings and happy to see their happiness, his religious principles are appreciated as imperishable by exalted persons who are considered pious and benevolent.

~Relativity: When you are unprepared for your exams and want to study, an hour flows like a second and you end up being unprepared. When you enjoy with your friends the whole semester before the exams a second flows like an hour and you end up wasting all time. My semesters are from tomorrow and now only God can save me!!

~Never wait to say someone what you really want to say because sometimes you can't say something while that person is there but sometimes that person won't be there when you find some courage to speak yourself. So speak your heart out when you get a chance. I can't miss my chance of thanking you for being my friend!!

~NO feeling in the world is greater than the one you experience while lying on a cricket ground after working hard hitting "bails" with cricket ball!!!

~Don't be Harsh (English) to anyone but be the cause of Harsh (Hindi) of everyone!!!

~By killing one human, you can save 99 other creatures from dying! So by finishing the whole human race and you will be able to save other 99 species from extinction. What a highly profitable deal!!

~I thinks that no one other than OBAMA deserved to win NOBEL PEACE PRIZE!!! He is the one who allowed his nations space agency to BOMBARD MOON (one of the most PEACEFUL thing to do). This reminded me of the caption written on one of my T-Shirt, " I will KILL for a NOBEL PEACE PRIZE".

Forgiveness, The virtue of the brave

"Forgiveness is a funny thing. It warms the heart and cools the sting." ~ William Arthur Ward

In our life, we often come around people who do us some good and quite often around some who do us the opposite. We are grateful to the first but hold resentment against the later. I have seen many a times that people feels it hard to forgive others. I tried to find what people thinks about forgiveness. It was astonishing to see that people believes that one should forgive the wrong doer only because nothing can offend him more than the act of forgiveness. I was not quite convinced with it so I thought of discussing the matter with two of my great friends, physics and philosophy. I ranged them up and made up a plan to meet them one good sunny afternoon.
I first discussed the matter with Physics to which she said that, "We should always forgive people and love them for who they are, no matter how wrong they do to us because sometimes we can't understand the motive behinds ones deed, whether it is for our good or not."
Physics is difficult to understand and so is the thing she says. I was not quite able to understand what she said as I was of the mindset that the motive behind anyone doing someone wrong is always wrong, to which she contradicted and said, "We always abuse friction for slowing us down and eating up our energy but have we ever wonder that if there weren't any friction, then how would we have been able to start up our motion in the first place."
To this I asked her that this might be the reason but why don't friction changes its form so the next time we interact with it while we being in our motion, it do not slow us down. She said that, "Every thing in the world has its limitation, and so do friction. Friction knows its limitation and also knows that after playing a role in starting our motion, it also have to play a role in stopping us when we need to stop. As friction knows that it cannot change itself spontaneously from a non-opposing force to an opposing force, it remains constant and oppose our motion, so that we don't exceed our limit in addition to getting stopped safely at the point where we need to stop. As we have discussed earlier that every thing has an element of good in it, its just that we are unable to see that good in it, likewise, friction also interact with us, with best of the interest of us from the bottom of its heart and so do other, its just that we are not unable to understand them." This statement of her was quite convincing but i was not fully satisfied so i started discussing it with philosophy.
Philosophy said that there are only two kinds of people in this world, the one whom you care for and the one whom you don't. If anyone hurts you then he must be belonging to one of the above mentioned categories. If the one who hurt you is the one you care for, then you should forgive him as you want him to be happy and his action should not offend you as much as his happiness should please you. But if the one who hurt you is the one you don't care about, then there are many consideration that we should think about before making a mind of not forgiving him. These are, why should the actions of the that person effect you as they hold no importance in your life, why should the wrong doing on anyone make you do the same by hating him and why should you not forgive that person, change him for the good as you are the one who will be on the loosing side if that person don't change.
Further, we should also consider forgiving people because no one is perfect in this world and the action of that person might be the outcome of the miseries that the person might be undergoing. By holding resentment against that person, you might increase the pain inside him which might make him hurt you more in the future and forgiving him might help him clam down. And after all, its you who is good and not the other one so you should always do good. Further, Plato has once said, "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."

In the end, i would like to recall what Thomas Fuller has said, "He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself; for every man has need to be forgiven."

Always forgive others as it is no one other than you who deserve the peace and harmony and try not to hurt others.

Say no to fire carckers.

LIVE & LET LIVE, LET US SAVE GOOD ENVIRONS TO OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS!
If you want to know “why you should not Burst Crackers”, kindly read through!
Firstly, some basics
Do you know really Deepavali is?

Deevali, or Divali is a major Indian festival, and a significant festival in Hinduism, Sikhism and Jainism which means Deep (light) avali (rows), a row of lights that taught us to vanquish ignorance that subdues humanity and to drive away darkness that engulfs the light of knowledge. Deepavali is also celebrated by Buddhists of Nepal

In many parts of India, it is the homecoming of Raja Ram of Ayodhya after a 14-year exile in the forest. The people of Ayodhya welcomed Ram by lighting rows of lamps. Southern India marks it as the day Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura. In Jainism it marks the nirvana of Lord Mahavira. The Sikhs celebrate Diwali for a different reason; on this day, the Sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind Ji, was freed from imprisonment along with 52 Hindu Kings (political prisoners) whom he had arranged to be released as well. After his release he went to Darbar Sahib (golden temple) in the holy city of Amritsar. In happiness they lit candles and diyas to greet the Guru. In India, Diwali is now considered to be a national festival, and the aesthetic aspect of the festival is enjoyed by most Indians regardless of faith
So, Deepavali was celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs across the globe as the "Festival of Lights," where the lights or lamps signify victory of good over the evil within every human being.
But how do we celebrate it today?
Diwali today means.
.
More ‘air, noise, water, land & social’ pollution due to use of lots of fire-crackers.
Which mean more patients for hospitals during & after the festival, more darkness rather than light, more pollution and a significant rise in global warming.
More evil than good, more Ravan than Ram, more hinsa and asatya than Lord Mahavir and more ignorance than Guru Hargobind Ji.
Today, it is celebrated by us as the “Festival of Darkness".
Do you know what educated Indians think about using fire cracker (Pataka) (especially during divali).
Here are some of their thoughts:
1. What kind of celebration is that when you disturb little children and elderly people, when you pollute the atmosphere, scare animals, dirty the street, and encourage an industry that we all know depends on child labour (it's very easy to make a sticker that says 'no child labour'). Our country is already noisy crowded and crazy with traffic and stress .. why on earth do these people want to add to that?
2. The Festival of Lights, diyas are lit to guide the goddess Lakshmi into the home. Surely all the crackers exploding like bombs must make her think they are trying to chase her away!
3. I guess it is like the person said about getting drunk at Christmas parties, a true Christian would not do that. And similarly, I suppose a true Hindu would not burst crackers on Diwali.
4. We can't stop people from doing this, but I hope we can educate and make people aware of the dangers and the "rudeness" of bursting crackers.
5. I really don't understand why people simply waste their money on crackers, which is even dangerous to life some times.Instead of that we can light the candles or 'deepam' in and out of our house and make this festival even more grand with less money.
6. In many schools, teacher's are asking their pupils to take oaths that they won't light crackers. This is really positive move that every one should follow.
Perhaps crackers are for people whose souls are so numb that they need this outlet to feel alive .,,, I almost feel sorry for them
During this festival (3 to 5 days), It has become a custom to enjoy Diwali through “Lighting Lamps” “Exchanging Sweets & Gifts” & "BURSTING FIRE CRACKERS".
First two are better way to enjoy, but what about the third one??
Are you aware what is the impact of bursting Fire crackers on the environment??

.
It affects environment in the following ways:
1. Air Pollution affecting health especially to diseased persons, aged people, children & pregnant women.
2. Water & land pollution will pollute our resources rivers, lakes.
3. Increased Noise levels can cause deafness/stress to many.
4. It takes several weeks to bring back normal air quality.
5. Fire hazards causing heavy damages to life and property.
6. Social nuisance leading to community disharmony.
7. According to the CPCB, 95 per cent of the crackers available in the market violate noise and air pollution norms.
8. Thanks to crackers, pollution levels of Delhi rose to 10 times the permissible limit on Diwali day 2002, when noise levels touched 140 decibels.
9. Release of Greenhouse Gases which results in global warming which is responsible for floods, hurricanes, melting of ice, extreme hot and cold weather, death of polar bears (they starve to death because ice caps in Arctic are melting), migration of people of Tuvalu (smallest country which is just 5 m above sea level), etc , etc..
The indicators of depleting environmental quality are harmful gases in the atmosphere, degradation of land, global warming, ozone depletion, loss of species and habitat and air and water pollution.
Are you aware what is the impact of bursting Fire crackers on the health??
It affects health in the following ways:
.
Highly polluting nature of these firecrackers lead to a plethora of diseases………
Pollutants
Can lead to...
Suspended Particulate Matter
Asthma, cancer, restrictive lung diseases, pneumoconiosis
Respirable Particulate Matter
Respiratory illness (chronic bronchitis and asthma), heart diseases
Sulpher Dioxide(SO2)
Eye burning, headache, respiratory problems like pulmonary emphysema, cancer, heart diseases
Nitrous Oxides
Lung irritation, chest tightness, viral infection, airway resistance
There is a 25% increas in asthma patients at OPD after Diwali. Air pollution rises 6-10 times adn the after-effects last for weeks, according to Dr. Pramod V Niphadkar of St. George Hospital.
Most disturbing is the increse of heavy metals in the atmosphere. Studies show that he heavy metals remain in the atmosphere for long and then get oxidised before entering the food chain through vegetables and fish.
The level of suspended particles in the air increases alarmingly during Diwali, causing eye, throat and nose problems. Although most of us do not feel the immediate impact, these problems can later develop into serious health hazards, according to Dr Rajesh Chawla of Apollo hospital, New Delhi.
Suspended particulate matter (SPM) exposure to the level of 100 ppm results in headache and reduced mental acuity. The effects are more pronounced in people with heart, lung or central nervous system diseases. Sulphur dioxide is readily soluble and dissolves in the larger airways of the respiratory system. This stimulates a contraction at 2 to 5 parts per million (ppm). At higher concentrations severe contraction restricts the breathing process.
Nitrogen dioxide is less soluble and so penetrates to the smaller airways and into the lungs. They destroy the linings of the respiratory surface, thereby reducing the intake of oxygen for the body. These cause respiratory allergies like asthma especially to the susceptible population.
Causes throat and chest congestion, and are likely to aggravate problems for those already suffering from coughs, colds and allergies.
High decibel level results in restlessness, anger, fidgetiness, impulsive behavior and over-reaction to situations. Most crackers used have more than 80 dB noise that can cause temporary hearing loss, says K Agarwal, chairman, Health Care Foundation, New Delhi
Scientific data to suggests that noise pollution can cause leads to hearing loss, high blood pressure, heart attack and sleep disturbances. Normal decibel level for humans is 60 dB. An increase by 10 decibels means double the noise volume and intensity, says Agarwal.
Normal decibel level for human beings is 60. An increase by 10 decibels means double the noise volume and intensity.
Children, pregnant women and those suffering from respiratory problems suffer the most due to excessive noise. It results in making them hyperactive or withdrawn, says Dr Jitendra Nagpal, psychiatrist, Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (VIMHAS), Delhi.
Allergic bronchitis, acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma, chronic bronchitis, ephysema, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases), allergic rhinitis, laryngitis, ssinusitis, pneumonia and common cold increase during this times, reports Dr Naarendra B Rawal, consultant chest physician and pulmonologist. The number of his patients doubles during Diwali. The firework is one of the provoking factors for childhood bronchial asthma, he adds.
The Toxics Link study pointed out that there is threat of exposure even from the unburnt material. These particles are very small (1 to 5 microns in size) and contain metals along with carbon.
Frightening, isn't it! Time we took a fresh look at the way we celebrate Diwali if we want to escape cancer, alzheimer's and other deadly diseases. The only way to do so is to educate the children who are tomorrow's adults. Let us not leave more carbon footprints than we need to.
Celebrate Diwali by all means but do it meaningfully. After all, we have to inhabit this planet for a long time and all of us would like our children to inherit a cleaner and safer planet.
Are you still not convinced that why you should not use fire crackers than this is for all animal and pets lovers.

Animals are fleeing in panic; some bump headlong into the next car hurting themselves severely. Others go and hide themselves trembling for fear. Others again grab objects thrown towards them with their mouth imagining they were toys, with the effect that they explode in their mouth; dogs die in the presence of their masters who remain shocked and dismayed ("Dog is killed by firework thugs")
The above description does not stem from a battlefield or an earthquake site: it is the vivid description of how animals experience fireworks.
For us human beings fireworks have become unbearably loud and have resulted to many thousands each year in inner-ear injuries and even in final hearing damage. Many animal species have an extremely sensitive ear and a cracker, therefore, impairs their hearing more than our human ear! Cats hear better than dogs and much better than human beings; they suffer from loud noises at least as much as a person with a heavy headache. A cat or a dog which is exposed to the bursting of a cracker can endure a long-lasting traume, even an irreversible ear damage. Fireworks lasting for hours are an acoustical torture for animals. Bunnies, guinea pigs, birds etc. are easily frightened and can suffer, as consequence of the loud noise, of a heart impact.
Fireworks can release heaviest health damage to animals up to shock conditions with death sequences.
Birds can lose orientation for quite some time because of the unexpected glare of fireworks rockets.
Animals which get too near to exploding fireworks become victims of burns and eye damage.
Some incidents:
  1. At least two dogs died and more than 15o were listed as runaways during the weekend's noisy celebrations of Diwali.
  2. A couple of days after Diwali’s fireworks displays, hundreds of birds were found dead on Beach. Finding so many dead birds in and near the ocean is so unusual that biologists believe the deaths were the result of the excessive amount of Diwali fireworks ignited this year. One speculation is that the noise of the blasts frightened the birds out to sea where they got tired, lost or confused, and then drowned. Another possibility is that the smoke drove them from their nighttime roosts and they died either from smoke inhalation or drowning when they became exhausted over the water.
  3. A warning has been issued by the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association to alert the public to the dangers of frightening guide dogs on firework night. It says: "Numerous guide dogs are so frightened by the noise they have to be sedated, which means they are unable to work for days at a time. Worse, some are even forced into early retirement because they become so nervous of any loud bangs or noises.”
  4. A woman, of Horse Rescue Centre, discovered one of the centre's mares lying in a ditch with a badly broken leg. It is thought she had fallen in the night before after being startled by fireworks set off in the area. A number of empty firework cartridge were found in the field where she fell. The vet had to shoot her because she was so badly injured. Her five-months-old foal was with the mare when she died. The foal is just traumatised.
  5. A dog has been killed after a firework exploded in a street. Residents believe the incident in happened when a gang of youths started throwing the fireworks. It was not clear whether the firework had been thrown directly at the dog, or it hat picked one up in its mouth before it exploded.
  6. About 12 horses took fright and broke out of their field after it's thought that fireworks were set off in the area. One of the horses (5) suffered serious chest injuries after colliding with a car, an other (who's in his 20s) will probably lose one eye.
  7. The miniature Doberman leapt out of a bedroom window and ran off after a 15ft fall. Owner says: "There were loads of fireworks being set off and he is terrified of them. I think he just panicked."
  8. Akhilesh still bears the scars after being attacked by his own German Shepherd dog in a city park when it was startled by children letting off fireworks.
  9. Twelve horses were loose in a pasture when likely bottle-rockets were launched near their barn, bouncing off the roof of the building. The horses were spooked and ran wildly through the pasture. One of the horses suffered an injury to its legs and two horses injured hooves. Tenants renting a house on the property discharged the fireworks.
  10. Levi, a dog, was so terrified by fireworks he chewed his way through the aluminium garage door, leaving a "massive pool of blood" behind him. The dog injured his paws and mouth in his desperate scramble to escape the fireworks near his home.
  11. A dog died while trying to escape from fireworks. He had been tied up in a backyard and became so terrified it tried to jump a fence, hanging itself in the process.
  12. Ringo, a seven-month-old puppy, has died after he was scared by fireworks set off by a group of youths and ran in front of a car.
  13. A family says the eruption from an exploding firework frightened their dog Jony so much she died of a heart attack. Jony was being taken for an evening walk when a loud explosion terrified the poor canine. The dog's owner managed to get the dog back to her house, where Jony (9) died of a heart attack.
  14. A farmer is demanding compensation after firework display killed one of his sheep and more than 20 unborn lambs. The loud noise of the fireworks display disturbed the sheep in the field next door and one fell into a pound and drowned. 20 ewes also lost their unborn lambs due to the firework display. The farmer was so distraught over the death of his sheep that he threw the carcass into a crowd of children and parents watching the display.
.
Harmful effects of Chemicals Used in Crackers:
· Copper: Poison to humans by ingestion. Inhalation of copper dust and fume causes irritation in the respiratory tract. Absorption of excess copper results in "Wilson's disease" in which excess copper is deposited in the brain, skin, liver, pancreas and myocardium (middle muscular layer in the heart).
· Cadmium: Can be poisonous to humans by inhalation, ingestion, intraperitonial, sub-cutaneous, intra-muscular and intravenous routes. Cadmium absorption can damage the kidneys and can cause anaemia. It is a potential human carcinogen. Cadmium causes increased blood pressure and also a disease called "Itai--Itai", which makes bones brittle resulting in multiple fractures.
· Lead: Affects the central nervous system in humans. A poison if ingested, moderately irritating. It can cause cancer of lungs and kidneys and an experimental teratogen. When heated it can emit highly toxic fumes. In inorganic form, it is a general metabolic poison and an enzyme inhibitor. Young children can suffer mental retardation and semi-permanent brain damage by exposure to lead. Incase of lead levels in blood, the disturbing feature is that the natural levels are very close to the lowest safety limits.
· Magnesium: Poison by ingestion, inhalation of magnesium dust and fumes can cause metal fume fever. Particles embedded in the skin can produce gaseous blebs and a gas gangrene. Dangerous fire hazard in the form of dust or flakes when exposed to flames. Manganese in the air has adverse effects on humans. Poisoning takes the form of progressive deterioration in the central nervous system.
· Manganese: An experimental carcinogen and mutagen. Human toxicity caused by dust or fumes. The main symptoms of exposure are languor, sleepiness, weakness, emotional disturbances, spastic gait and paralysis.
· Potassium: Dangerous fire hazard. If there is any confinement, an explosion can occur.
· Sodium: In elemental form, it is highly reactive, particularly with moisture with which it reacts violently and therefore can attack living tissue. When heated in air, it emits toxic fumes of sodium oxide. Dangerous fire hazard when exposed to heat and moisture.
· Zinc: Human skin irritant and effects pulmonary system. Pure zinc powder is non-toxic to humans by inhalation but difficulty arises from oxidation (burning), as it emits zinc fumes. Zinc is perhaps the least toxic of all heavy metals, in fact an essential element in animal and human nutrition, still they become toxic when absorbed in excess. Zinc stimulates the sensation of vomiting. An exposure to 150 mg of zinc can stimulate the process of vomiting in an adult male.
· Nitrate: Large amounts taken by mouth can have serious and even fatal effects. The symptoms are dizziness, abdominal cramps, vomiting, bloody diarrhoea, weakness, convulsions and collapse. Small repeated doses may lead to weakness, general depression, headache and mental impairment. Also there is some implication of increased cancer incidents among those exposed. Highly inflammable and on decomposition they emit highly toxic fumes.
· Nitrite: Large amounts taken by mouth may produce nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, collapse and coma. Repeated small doses can cause a fall in blood pressure, rapid pulse, headaches and visual disturbances. When heated, emit highly toxic fumes of NOx.
· Phosphorous in PO4: Poison to humans. Dangerous fire hazard when exposed to heat or chemical reaction. Poison by inhalation, ingestion, skin contact and subcutaneous routes. Ingestion affects the central nervous system. Toxic quantities have an acute effect on the liver and can cause severe eye damage.
· Sulphur in SO4: Poison to humans by inhalation an eye, skin and mucous membrane irritant and corrosive, an experimental carcinogen. It chiefly affects the upper respiratory tract and the bronchi. It may cause edema of the lungs or glottis, and can produce respiratory paralysis.
Now if this is about the children & adults who play with firecrackers.
What about the 1000s of children who make them?
Here are some facts:
We are not doing justice to children of age group 6 to 14 years who manufacture these crackers who are the victims of this profession, will suffer from skin & respiratory disorders with shorter span of life.
Sivakasi in Tamilnadu produces more than 90% of firecrackers in India. More than 100 thousand children aged 3-14 work there 12-16 hrs a day for a meager Rs.10-15.
The corrosive gunpowder mixture with which they work eats away their tender skins first and their flesh later
So bear in mind that when we spend 100s of rupees on these polluting crackers we are also encouraging those who employ these little children & helping the 750 crore fireworks industry flourish!
In the process we are also denying these vulnerable children, their basic rights to read, write and play.
In the name of all those poor children who sacrifice their joy and even life please stop using firecrackers. And let the Diwali drive away our darkness that engulfs the light of knowledge…………
When we use these crackers we are also violating the directives of The Supreme Court in Sep 2001 regarding firecrackers.
In New Delhi during previous years Diwali, many of the school children took oath not to burst crackers.
The money you spend senselessly for buying firecracker, you can donate them for some social cuase, to poor children who don’t have money even to buy food for themselves.
In fact in 2005, 2006 & 2007 we got a very good response to this cause & found so many wise citizens in & around Bangalore not bursting crackers during this festival.
Please forward this message to atleast 10 of your friends & make them aware of not to burst crackers atleast from now onwards considering its ill effects on environment.
Being responsible citizens: Join hands with any environmental groups to prevent from bursting crackers in the city and celebrate "HAPPY DIWALI WITHOUT CRAKERS". Don’t ever purchase crackers which amounts to environmental degradation like air, water, land & ground water pollution. Causes health hazards, inconvenience to asthma patients, infants, pregnant women and senior citizens.
It is concerning to note that some environmental groups & government agencies are simply taking precautions for safe bursting of crackers, rather than its prevention. Are they aware of the real damage to environment even if used in safest ways?
By not purchasing crackers, we are doing humane service to society.
Do you know that many companies opting for ISO 14001 Certification are struggling to dispose small quantities of Hazardous wastes, by having material Safety Data Sheets?
Whereas the amount of hazardous chemicals out of these crackers is alarming! recklessly dumping the hazardous chemicals, without any control, creating environmental havoc.
Who is responsible for control & safe disposal of all these hazardous wastes from these crackers?
Is it the Government, NGO, Corporate community, or Citizens in general?
If already purchased, "DONT USE IT, RATHER DAMPEN THE FUSES AND WE SHALL LOOK FOR ITS SAFE DISPOSAL"
• Children, stop using firecrackers…instead demand your parents to buy toys, gifts, dress, & books in place of crackers.
• Parents & teachers, urge your children/pupil not to use it...
• Employers, Discourage your staff from using firecrackers by any means more importantly stop distributing crackers in the form of festival gifts.
• Television & other media, Don’t allow them to advertise on fire cracker’s, rather bring awareness in support of preventing cracker usage.
• Government, Discourage the sale, distribution & usage of Firecrackers.
• Common man... Use your common sense not to burst fire crackers and work towards sustenance of Mother Nature.
• Environmentalists & NGO’s. Kindly unite & work towards a common goal “reducing all sorts of pollution due to manufacture, sale, distribution & bursting of crackers during these diwali days.”
LIVE & LET LIVE, LET US SAVE GOOD ENVIRONS TO OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS!
We definately don't want all this to happen with you. So stay away from fire crackers.
